in the neighbourhood pics,Tokyo 2006

I live in a quaint village in Setagaya-ku.It is very freindly and local.I like it.
It is located 15 mins by train or bus or car from Shinjuku/Shibuya and Harajuku.

This is the local sushi shop.On the 2F is a fugu bar, that is the poisonous fish.I have never tried it.Approximately 10 people a year die from fugu. This restaurant is called 'Midori-Zushi'.They are famous for extra fresh and etra large servings of sushi. There 'Anago' is huge and comes serverd warm.

Across and up the rd is McDonalds. The happy meal at the moment is 'The chronicles of narnia'.
I like the ebi-o-fillet burger with corn potage soup and the fresh salad. It costs about $5 or 500 yen for a set meal.

This the drugstore.I buy all my soap, shampoo, cleaning products, medicines here.
usually supermarkets in Japan do NOT stock these items.

Vending machines are everywhere!!!These ones here sell cigarettes.they sell for about 300 yen a pkt.Smoking is icky!

March 5th 2006

It was a warm sunny Tokyo day.
Meela and I headed into Shibuya.
1st stop was Tower records to browse
the magazines. We ran into this rad
Californian band called 'NHOI' doing
an instore.

After that we met up with
Colleen and walked up Cat Street!!!
What a busy Sunday up there it was.
Meela wanted a crepe so we stopped and
ordered the 'choco,banana,strawberry and
'nama' cream one.
this is the crepe van,you can find various vans
like this all over Tokyo

While we were waiting for a crepe we saw this 'Oji-san' walking
towards us.Colleen took this opportunity to film him.he was very friendly.

Yes he was indeed one of a kind and had some funny stuff to say.

This is the ADIDAS store. They have some awesome one off stuff.

This is a view looking up Cat st towards harajuku,on the left is a yummy cafe called 'Wired'.They sell yummy avocado and shrimp tortilla wraps and delicious chai tea.On the right and up is a shop called Clock channel,I get lots of my clothes from there.

On Cat st you can find a few good collectible toy stores, cafes, designer stores and even the odd cat.

After Cat st we then headed up to the bridge.

This bridge where they hang out is
usually always crowded on the weekends
with these cos-play kids, tourists and tv shows.
It is located between harajuku stn and Yoyogi park.

We often go here to take pics and film and always end up getting stopped
so people can take our picture too..

This picture is of a truck advertising a new drink.
trucks with HUGE amazing displays drive around Tokyo all day blaring music advertising anything from cup ramen to the latest Hilary Duff album.
